One of the most enlightening works of philosophy I’ve come across. Montaigne discusses everything from a moral perspective (sadness, desire, stoicism, vices, friendship, even cannibalism). His stance is distinctly stoic and highly influenced by Seneca. The book is also far less obscure than I expected. I only regret not having read it earlier.
