More boring than expected. This is the story of Hans Castorp, a young man who visits a sanatorium for a short stay but ends up remaining there for seven years.
Mann is surely a great writer but misses defining a clear plot. There are too many parts that don’t add much value to the story and simply describe what has already happened.
The book makes you think, though, about time, mortality, illness, and life. Perhaps it could have been shortened for a much better experience.
